Mexico faces US gunmakers in Supreme Court, saying they fuel cartel crime

In 2021, Mexico brought an unprecedented civil lawsuit against US gun companies for their negligent trade practices that actively the illicit trafficking of their products. It is estimated that 200,000 firearms are trafficked into Mexico every year, empowering criminal organization. The case was heard by the US Supreme Court on March 4th, not on the merits but on the scope of an immunities statute that shields the gun industry.

Se estima que 200,000 armas son traficadas a México cada año, empoderando a organizaciones criminales.
