In recent years, the government has intensified a strategy of collective punishment that includes the arbitrary revocation of citizenship, the confiscation of personal and family property, and the forced closure of civil society organizations. These measures have resulted not only in the loss of fundamental rights, but also in statelessness and forced displacement for these women and their families.
These repressive tactics have aimed not only to silence their voices but also to dismantle their emotional, professional, and community ties. However, far from giving up, these women have turned exile into a platform of resistance from which they continue to denounce injustice, preserve memory, and work toward making a democratic future for Nicaragua possible. Their persistence is an act of defiance against a regime that has tried to erase them, but has failed to silence them.

Este reportaje de El País, expone las historias de mujeres nicaragüenses que han sido víctimas de persecución, exilio y represión por parte del régimen de Daniel Ortega y Rosario Murillo debido a su activismo feminista y político. En los últimos años, el gobierno ha intensificado una estrategia de castigo colectivo que incluye la revocación arbitraria de la nacionalidad, la confiscación de bienes personales y familiares, y el cierre forzado de organizaciones de la sociedad civil. Estas medidas han provocado no solo la pérdida de derechos fundamentales, situaciones de apatridia y desarraigo de estas mujeres y sus familias.
Estas tácticas represivas no sólo han estado dirigidas a silenciar sus voces, sino también a quebrar su entorno afectivo, profesional y comunitario. Sin embargo, lejos de rendirse, estas mujeres han transformado el exilio en una trinchera desde la cual continúan denunciando las injusticias, defendiendo la memoria y trabajando para que un futuro democrático para Nicaragua sea posible. Su persistencia es un acto de resistencia frente a un régimen que ha intentado borrarlas, pero que no ha logrado callarlas.
